Fire District 6 responded to a motor home fire at 8:40 October 18th 2010 at Sam's Good RV Park, 8510 NE Hwy. 99. The motor home where the fire started is a complete loss; two neighboring trailers and a van were also damaged. A 42-year-old man that was in the motor home suffered burns to his feet. He was transported by American Medical Response to Southwest Washington Medical Center. When Fire District 6 first arrived on scene the entire top of the motor home was engulfed by flames. Crews say a leaking 10 gallon propane tank helped to extend the flames to a neighboring trailer. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal's Office.
Fire District 6 responded with 2 engines, and a rescue vehicle, Vancouver Fire also assisted with 2 engines. It took crews 10 minutes to knock down the fire. They'll be overhauling and watching for hot spots for the rest of this afternoon.
